Another exclusive saber for the AusSabers armoury – The Light.

This is a beautiful hilt. Polished aluminium, real brass and a simple, elegant form. It’s comfortable in the hand, and solidly built.  Taking inspiration from the prequel era, I wanted to build something that was original, yet familiar. 

The pommel is substantial and weighty, and features a built in covertec wheel to attach to a belt. Above this, the grip section comprises two parts. The lower grip is a heat fin section in black, similar to what you see in the Master, Exiled, or our own Electris sabers. Higher up the grip is a simple, ringed polished silver segment. Comfortable and grippy.

The saber then tapers to a thinner waist section made of solid brass. This segment is ribbed and elegantly placed to contrast with the mostly silver grip. Moving higher up we find the switch and upper hilt body – silver again, with strong black lines breaking up the sheen. Two deep red thumbscrews flank the left side of the switch area.

Finally, the emitter features several flared ring parts. Above this is solid brass neck capped with a small aluminium ring.

Saber hilt is 265mm long. Grip diameter 34mm, waist section is 30mm, emitter area is 38mm on the widest ring. 1 inch inside diameter Please note the brass segments WILL TARNISH!! This is perfectly normal for real brass. You can polish them to a shine, and clear coat them to avoid this natural weathering.
